The End of a Road, the Beginning of Life

Her time with us is nearing an end. In 4 days, I will fly to Chicago with Fu Yi to meet up with her host group, where they will depart together for their return to China. While we are sad to see her go, God has been preparing our hearts for months. From the beginning, we were fully aware that her travel visa allows her here for 30 days. This hosting experience gave us an opportunity for Fu Yi to stay in our home for one month. We knew this time would eventually end. We knew it wouldn't be easy. But it's what God called us to. And for good reason. First and foremost, our goal through this hosting program was to show her the love of Jesus. We vowed to pour in to her, showing her true love that she's never experienced before. We promised to love her fiercely, leaving our hearts exposed and vulnerable. Countdown to... "Bringing Home Emily Hope" Orphan Awareness Event

Image
Our "Bringing Home Emily Hope" Orphan Awareness event is only a month away. We are very busy ironing out all the final details and are getting very excited about the big day! We've posted this event on our Loman Adoption Facebook page . If you don't "like" us yet, please do that. If you haven't seen our FB event yet, you can view details HERE . Feel free to RSVP while you're visiting our event page! The purpose of this event is to bring awareness to our community of the global orphan crisis and it also provides a tangible way to help in relieving this crisis. Proceeds will go towards the expense of bringing our baby girl home from China. A portion of the proceeds will also benefit  (un)adopted , who we are so thrilled to have joining us for the occasion. There are many ways to help, if you feel led. Whether it's through your time, your monetary donations, or just a heart to hear how you can love on orphans, all of these are valuable. If you are i...

Miracles for Maggie

Image
It's been almost 2 months since I've written anything here but that's not to say big things haven't been happening. Since our immigration approval, we received our LOA (letter of acceptance) from China. In previous adoptions, this step took 60-70 days. It was a surprise to hear of our LOA only 25 days in to our wait! Today, our 800 immigration application will be overnighted to USCIS. This is asking permission for our specific child to immigrate to the U.S. This step should take about 2 weeks. After that, there are several little steps (and lots of paperwork) that happen in order to complete the process. We are pretty confident that we will be traveling in March but hopeful it could actually be sooner. Travel time after LOA is generally about 10 weeks out. We'll be on our way to get Maggie before we know it! In addition to a quick timeline, God has worked other miracles on our behalf. We shared on Facebook that we received a couple large donations recently, leav...
